Carol Landis started dancing at the age of 3. She studied with Bea Fried and Ileene Simon, and at age 11 she became an assistant teacher. By the time she was 13, she was teaching her own classes. Her additional extensive tap training was with Dave Morgenstern.

Carol started dancing professionally when she was 15 years old. She opened for big headline acts in nightclubs in Cleveland and Pennsylvania.

Carol opened her own studio in January 1975 and held her first annual recital by June. In 1976 Carol moved her studio to its present location at 5637 Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst, Ohio, where she just celebrated 34 years in business.

In 1992 Carol received a surprise nomination for one of the three most influential people in dance arts for Northern Ohio. The winner was announced at a black tie affair at the Palace Theater sponsored by Northern Ohio Magazine.

In recent news the studio held its first annual Halloween Sleepover. 20 students danced, ate, karaoked, did arts and crafts and watched movies all night.

Carol continues her own education yearly by attending several conventions and taking classes with occasional guest teachers. For many years Carol's intensive month long training has been with Broadway Dance Center and Steps both located in New York City. Her regular teachers have included Charles Goddertz, Savion Glover, Danny Hoctor, Charles Kelly, Germaine Goodson, Germaine Salsburg, David Howard, and many more.

Carol occasionally has guest teachers who teach master classes at the studio. Guest teachers have included: Members of the cast of Tap Dogs, Bring in the Noise, Bring in the Funk, and Charles Goddertz from Steps in New York. The studio has made several appearances on Channel 8 and has had articles in the Plain Dealer and Sun Press.

The studio has an annual recital which is held at Mayfield High School. There is a special parent class that starts every March to prepare some of the parents to dance in the show with their kids. There is also a men’s only “Blues Brothers” dance, to wow the audience!

Competition has been a part of the studio for the last 20 years. The company "Swing Kids" compete in 3-4 regional and national competitions every season.

One of Carols greatest accomplished students was Terri Caruso. Terri went on to perform in many Broadway shows then spent several years in Las Vegas as dance captain for the Rockettes. She also understudied for Suzanne Sommers to perform in her absence. Four other students have recently contacted Carol to inform her of their new found fame "Off Broadway." Two of these students have appeared regularly on a T.V. drama series.

Since the studio opened, Carols students have always given back to the community by putting on "no charge" shows to outside organizations. Some of these groups have include Montifiore, Menorah Park and Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing homes, Barnes and Noble Bookstore and several hospitals. They raised over $450, purchased gifts, and distributed them to the patients during the Holiday show at Rainbow Baibies and Children's Hospital . The studio has also "adopted" families in need at Christmas and provided them a wonderful array of food and gifts.

Classes taught at the studio include: ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, breaking, popping, locking, pointe, ballroom, exercise for weight control and bridal dance for couples who are getting married. There are also all male classes available.

The main goal of the studio is to instill the love of dance in every student! To give everyone the highest quality education from the recreational dancer to the advanced student.
